Design & Technology

In DT pupils are taught the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to process a design and make task.

The skills covered will include design, make, evaluate and specific technical knowledge to apply their understanding such as strengthening and reinforcing complex structures, use of mechanical systems such as gears, pulleys, cams, levers and linkages.

Understand electrical systems such as circuits, including switches, bulbs, buzzers and motors.

The topic themes have been left open to integrate into teachers chosen topics again to create a cross curricular approach.
